Are you a big fan of Ramen? Korean Ramen or Ramyeon is very popular among locals and more fans are growing overseas.
Let’s have a look at brief history of Ramyeon to understand more about the food itself. Chinese lamian was introduced to Japan in the late 19th century to early 20th century by Chinese immigrants. It was later modified to what is now called Ramen. As you can guess, the word Ramen is derived from the Chinese Lamian, literally meaning stretch noodle. After the Second World War, the number of cheap wheat imports increased, which helped the spread of Ramen culture. Ramen made its way to Korea in the early 1960s and was later became Ramyeon, distinctive from Ramen.
There is a difference between Ramen and Ramyeon. Japanese Ramen is more subtle in flavor whereas Korean Ramyeon is bursting with flavors and generally more spicy. Ramyeon quickly became a popular food among Koreans especially since the economy was growing and people demanded quick- and-easy-to-make food. It is also a perfect late-night snack(Yasik).
Global recognition of Korean Ramyeon has increased with the help of popular Korean dramas because main characters eating Ramyeon often comes out in the dramas. Also, Hot Chicken Flavored Ramyeon was a global hit for its notorious spiciness ever since its release. Let’s think about what kinds of Ramyeon to eat as today’s night snack. Stir-fried Noodle
1. Put 550ml (About 2 1/3 cups) of water in a pot.
2. Add Soup Base and Vegetable Mix and wait till the water boils.
3. Add noodles and stir occasionally for 4-5 minutes.
4. Remove from the heat and serve.

2. Add noodle when the water boils. Wait for 3 minuets.
3. Put the noodle in a colander and shower with cold water.
4. Place the noodle in a serving plate and add the sauce. Serve.

Corn Butter Shin Ramyeon – A wonderful midnight snack with a beer!
Ingredients
- 1 pack of Shin Ramyeon
- water 350ml
- canned sweet corn 60g
- butter 20g
- mayonnaise 10g
- sugar 10g
- Parmesan cheese 4g
- milk 30ml
- one egg
- one chili pepper
- little bit of Tabasco
How to Cook
- Beat an egg in a bowl
- Chop down one chili pepper into little pieces
- Cook Shin Ramyeon like a stir-fried noodle (See below on how to cook stir-fried noodles)
- Add butter and corn in the frying pan and fry it until it turns gold-yellow. Add sugar and mayonnaise
- Add #1 egg in #4, and also milk to make a soft scramble egg.
- Place the scramble egg on top of Shin Ramyeon and add Parmasan cheese, chopped pepper and 3~4 drops of tabasco sauce.

Jjapagettie Gratin – A wonderful snack for children 😎
Ingredients
- 1 pack of Chapagetti Chajang Noodle
- canned sweet corn 2T
- Parmesan cheese 70g
- little bit of olive oil and parsley
How to Cook
- Cook Chapagetti Chajang Noodle. Be sure to under cook the noodle
- Put #1 in the Gratin bowl and add corns and cheese on top
- Microwave for 2 minuets
- Put parsley on top.

Chocolate Crunchy Noodle Ball – Chocolate is always right
Ingredients
- 1 pack of Ansungtangmyeon
- Chocolate 200g
- Peanut and almond 50g
- little bit of oil and rainbow chocolate toppings(or any decorations)
- Mold
How to Cook
- Chop the noodle into small pieces(dry noodle. No need for water) and also chop the peanuts and almond as well
- Add some oil and heat the frying pan
- Dump in #1 in #2 and fry it until it turns golden yellow
- Melt chocolate in a double boiler
- Put #3 in #4 and mix it.
- Put #5 in a mold before the chocolate hardens and put it in the fridge.
- Take out the #6 and decorate it with almond or rainbow chocolate toppings.
